Philippines Permanent Resident Visas
These visas offer greater flexibility for those interested in staying in the Philippines on a more permanent basis. If granted one of these visas, you will be required to visit the Bureau of Immigration only once a year for an Annual Report, which you can do so by showing your passport, visa and paying a fee of only Php 310.
13a SPOUSE VISA
This visa is reserved for foreigners who marry a Filipino Citizen. After marriage, the Filipino Citizen completes the application requesting you to be given permanent Philippine legal resident status. Then you will be required to go to the nearest Bureau of Immigration for an interview so they can assess the integrity and validity of your marriage. If successful, the 13a Visa will be granted and issued on a "probationary" basis.
You will need to return to the Bureau of Immigration in about 9 months for another interview where your visa will be made "permanent". This is just to make sure you are still married and not a troublemaker.
The 13a Visa application can also be made at the local Philippine Embassy or Consulate in your home country. Both parties must be present and you will be required to undergo a medical examination. Once your 13a Visa is granted, it is immediately "permanent" and no second interview is required. Click here for more info about this visa.
SPECIAL RESIDENT RETIREE VISA (SRRV)
This option allows any foreigner, over the age of 35, without a criminal record, who meets the medical standards, to obtain permanent residence in return for making an interest paying deposit into the Philippine Retirement Agency. Click here for more info about this visa.
SPECIAL VISA FOR EMPLOYMENT GENERATION (SVEG)
This visa option is fairly new and is designed to encourage foreign investment and local employment in the Philippines. The main requirement for qualification is that you must have a legally registered business and full time employment of at least 10 Filipino Nationals. Click here for more info about this visa.
